It is difficult to recover from drug and alcohol addiction, but you don't have to do it alone. We believe that making the decision to engage in treatment is a courageous first step. Our addiction treatment team is standing by, ready to provide you with compassionate care and effective, therapeutic interventions. By treating the whole person, and not just the symptoms, we give our clients the best opportunity to maintain long term sobriety. Our staff has the energy, passion, and clinical knowledge to help you achieve success, sobriety and a greater sense of well-being.
We recognize that drug and alcohol addiction is a biomedical brain disease, not a moral disease. The disease of addiction is chronic, progressive, and if left untreated, fatal. We believe in a treatment program designed to treat the systemic person and not just the addiction. Our master's level counselors are trained to treat addiction and co-occurring disorders (ADD/ADHD, bi-polar, depression, eating disorders and anxiety) in order to provide the most comprehensive care possible. If the co-occurring disorders are left untreated, the possibility of relapse significantly increases. Our outpatient, addiction treatment program utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)- Informed Treatment, both evidence based practices, proven to be effective in helping people make emotional and behavioral changes. CBT and DBT help clients manage drug/alcohol cravings, learn how to tolerate distressing feelings without using self destructive coping skills, improve interpersonal effectiveness, and create a healthier, more fulfilling life. Our clients find that the skills and techniques they learn in treatment are applicable in many areas of their life, and often report that after treatment, they function at a higher rate than they ever have, even before drug or alcohol use. Treatment is hard work, but it can be a lot of fun too! We support medically assisted treatment. Alcohol and narcotics alter the brain’s pleasure system, creating the compulsion to use. This chemical imbalance can be corrected with medication. Research shows that dual therapy (medication & psychotherapy) produces the best prognosis in addicted patients. If you are interested in medically assisted treatment, our staff can refer you to a network provider who specializes in addiction medicine and can prescribe FDA approved anti-craving medications. Medical assistance is not a requirement in our program; however, acute withdrawal from drugs and alcohol can be very dangerous. If we believe that you are at risk, we will require that you are first evaluated by a physician before beginning treatment. |
